The Founding of the Polish Association of Language Service Providers

The Founding of the Polish Association of Language Service Providers

The 2nd of October 2019 was a very important day for the translation industry in Poland: it marked the founding of POLOT, the Polish Association of Language Service Providers. APLOQ is proud to be not only a founding member but also the initiator and driving force behind this important initiative!

professional polish translation organization

The industry needed an organization that would openly accept new members and actively liaise with all players in the sector, including academia, translators and buyers from public and private sectors. And now it’s here: POLOT is ready to welcome new members so that together we can face head-on the challenges of our industry. The full program will be announced soon. The association’s full name in Polish is Związek Pracodawców Branży Tłumaczeniowej POLOT. ‘Polot’ is a Polish word that means ‘imaginativeness’ or ‘brilliance’.

Goals of POLOT

The Association’s goal is to represent and bring together providers of professional translation and localization services and other industry-related businesses in order to create a professional and inspiring environment for the whole industry in Poland. POLOT seeks to create and improve a good business environment and cooperation throughout the industry, including between LSPs, freelance translators, academia and service providers.
There are 11 founding members, including two initiators: APLOQ Translations and GET IT Language Solutions. But that’s not the end of our good news: our CEO, Agata Rybacka, has become a Vice President of the Association! We are looking forward to working together for the improvement of the Polish translation industry.
