A guide to Polish SEO

A guide to Polish SEO

Like in any country, the key to success is getting your brand/products found. With 44,000 searches being made every second, the best way to do this is by being at the top of Google. Although it sounds pretty simple, if you want to be the best, you’re going to need to invest in Polish SEO.

Is translating my website into Polish enough for SEO?

Unfortunately, gone are the days of simply getting your website translated into Polish. The number one rule of international marketing is making sure that you feel like a local business, and unless you localize your site, you’re going to fall at the first hurdle. Localization takes translation one step further, so you don’t have to worry about having idioms getting lost in translation. Localization also takes cultural differences into account and incorporates an element of creative writing into the process too. To be honest – websites should never be translated anyway. You should have a Polish version written by a Polish professional as different things make Polish people tick.

Should I just translate my Polish keywords for SEO?

Unfortunately, keywords shouldn’t be translated either. Polish people search differently than English speakers do, so you really need to get into the frame of mind of a Polish searcher and come up with new keywords based on what they’d search for. You can also use tools like Google Keyword Planner and Google Trends to help you find search volumes for your keywords so you know which ones work best.

How should I go about SEO optimizing my new Polish website?

Luckily, this bit isn’t too different to what you’re used to 🙂 As Google has a market share of 97.3% in Poland, you’d use the same Google SEO best practices you’d use at home (on-page, off-page and technical). The only difference is, that you’d have to make sure your Keywords are Polish, your ALT text is in Polish, and that all your meta titles and descriptions are Polish as this’ll confuse Google and penalize you if you leave anything in English.

How do I choose a provider to manage my Polish SEO?

Just like your standard SEO, you need to make sure you have a professional to help you. You need to first make sure that your provider is both experienced in SEO and experienced in Polish SEO – speaking Polish isn’t enough. You need to also make sure they’re able to handle all 3 steps of SEO for you, and that they’re willing to explain everything to you. A big warning sign is if they promise you results after a month.

How long does Polish SEO take to see results?

Like any new website, you’re looking at around 6 months to see results. SEO is a long-term investment, but one that really pays off. You can also help speed things up by blogging, but make sure that you’re blogging in Polish and that you’re covering topics relevant to your Polish audience.
